Book Boxes

Second Post
Well, lets see if this is any easier. The last post suffered from a computer that thought it knew what was best, and a strange data entry system. I suspect that "old" technology (aka a laptop) may be better than "new" (aka a tablet).

As you know from the previous post, I think we should have a competition to see who can guess the number of book boxes correctly. We have a form for guesses, and we have already had a few guesses. Who will be right - I don't know! To aid you with your guessing here are a few book related decisions.

1. Piano Music
Piano music does not count as books. We have five "in-use" boxes of music (eg. musicals, modern, post-war, non piano) and at least four not in use (Classical (ancient), Classical). The sheet music is currently in the music cabinet, yet to be filed.

2. Recipie Books
Do not truly count as books, on the grounds that they would never be found in a library (debate).

3. Computer Instruction Books and Manuals
Do also not count as books - as they are also not found in the library, or the general use bookshelves.

4. Maps
Do not count as books. We have packed one box full of OS maps (you can't even see the space it created on the shelf!). Books about Countries (eg. "I never knew that about Wales" or "Amsterdam") do count as books.

5. Encyclopaedias
Do count as books.

So where do we keep books you might well ask. Well, I had a collection in my room, Harri has a collection in hers, Dad and Mum have a collection in theirs, James has a collection in his, we have three bookcases on the upstairs landing and a double bookcase on the half landing. The library has many many many shelves full of books. The kitchen only has recipe books, which do not count as books. The books in the office also do not count as books. So there's not that many books - I think the lacklustre library in Hyde Park (Leeds) might just have more books than we do, although our books are infinitely more interesting and well presented.
Book Box One: Classics, Cornwall, Palmer

Book Box Two: Desmond Bagley, Ian Rankin, Craig Thomas and a few others...
Book Box Three: Wicked Trilogy, "Classics", John Grisham

Book Box Four: "Girly Books"

Book Box Five: Overspill

Book Box Six: Oversized Books
Just in-case you were interested. This is boxes of books, one box of elephants, and two more boxes of children's books- bringing the total so far to eight boxes.
So how empty does eight boxes full of books mean the book shelves are?

An empty bookcase - just in case you weren't sure what one looks like.

Empty - it was full before we started, honest!!

Very very empty!

Ah, not so empty :s

Looks like we've still got a long way to go. Get your guesses in now- and feel free to re-submit as time goes on.
